Vashishtha Research Private Limited has secured a strategic investment of ₹ 5 Crores from The Supreme Industries Limited (SIL), one of India’s leading plastic product manufacturing companies.
The investment will accelerate the development, testing, and commercialization of advanced composite (carbon fiber-wrapped) Type IV pressure vessels for storage of alternate fuels such as CNG, Hydrogen, and other industrial gases.
Hydrogen is increasingly being recognized as a key enabler of the clean energy transition, with growing adoption across mobility, energy, and industrial sectors. However, its storage requires high-pressure, lightweight, and safety-critical solutions. Composite Type IV pressure vessels are uniquely suited to meet these requirements, positioning them as a critical technology for enabling safe and scalable hydrogen deployment.

Enabling India’s Clean Energy Transition
As India transitions toward cleaner fuels and alternative energy sources, safe and lightweight high-pressure storage solutions are becoming critical infrastructure. Composite pressure vessels offer significant advantages over traditional metallic cylinders, including:
- Higher strength-to-weight ratio
- Improved corrosion resistance
- Enhanced safety performance
- Longer lifecycle durability
Through this strategic partnership, Vashishtha Research aims to build a fully indigenous ecosystem covering:
- Composite product design
- Filament winding and automated manufacturing systems
- Engineering software for composite processing
- Testing, validation, and scalable production
This collaboration strengthens India’s push toward advanced manufacturing and aligns with the national vision of technological self-reliance.
